12/4/2007 It's quiet, almost too quiet

30 Year Fixed Rate and Lock Recommendations: UNCHANGED from yesterday.

The Dow is flat.  10 year note is flat.  Mortgage backed securities are flat.

This is the calm before the storm as the rest of the week is action packed.  We have tons of employment information coming our way which can always be a big mover of markets.  In addition, there will be more data from the ISM, more data about the housing market, and more information about consumer sentiment and spending.

Some analysts are predicting bad numbers this week on these reports which would mean mortgage rates can drop even further.  If the optimists win out and the reports are better than expected, in general, look for rates to move up by the end of the week.
