The Fed's Senior Officer Loans Survey the highlight of the U.S. on Monday. Canadian markets will be paying attention to the releases of housing starts and new house price index. In the evening, the focus will turn to the UK's house price balance and the British Retail Consortium's retail sales monitor.
At 8:15 a.m. EDT, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) will release housing starts for July, which are expected to fall to 210.0k compared to June's 217.8k level.
At 8:30 a.m. EDT, Statistics Canada will release the new housing price index for June. The consensus is expecting another flat reading in new housing prices following May's flat reading.
At 1 p.m. EDT, the U.S. Department of Treasury will sell $26 billion in three-month bills and $25 billion in six-month bills.
At 2:15 p.m. EDT, the Fed will release the Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey for Q3.
At 2:30 p.m. EDT, U.S. Acting Undersecretary for Domestic Finance Anthony Ryan will speak at a panel discussion on hedge fund regulation at the Annual Meeting of the American Bar Association in New York City.
At 7:01 p.m. EDT, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors will release the house price balance for July. The consensus expects a decline to -90% from June's -88% level.
Simultaneously, the British Retail Consortium will release their retail sales monitor for July.
